James E. Wilkerson

Heaven has gained a special angel. Dr. Wilkerson was our doctor, as well as some of our family. What a wonderful,kind,generous man he was. And always in a good mood, he had such a zest for life! Our heartfelt prayers are with the family.

Our condolences to the Jim Wilkerson family. I was 2 years behind Jim at King High School, in Kingsville, TX. We had a lot of good memories & I remember him being a star on the track team running the hurdles.

I'm proud to see what service he has provided to his fellow man. May God bless his family.

Such a wonderful man...He will really be missed! May God wrap his arms around you and your family and bring comfort to you!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I knew you when you were in 1st Grade at Southside Elementary in Mrs, Mendietta's class.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Jimmy was my friend. We grew up in Kingsville, long ago,and we were True Buddies.

Dr Wilkerson was a wonderful person. I will always be grateful for all that he taught me about cardiology. He was my friend and I will miss him but I take comfort knowing that he has found his "wonderful day in paradise".

We are very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was my (Kirk) cardiologist when we lived in Palestine several years ago. What a wonderful doctor, and even more, what a brilliant man! We had the privilege of knowing he and Mickie at church and in Sunday School class. He always had a smile on his face everytime we saw him. May you find comfort in knowing that he is at rest now and no longer in pain. Our deepest sympathy to your family.

Dear Mickie and family, We all will miss Jim. I never saw him that he was not smiling and asking me how I was doing and what he could do for me. He was always positive and made my day when ever I was around him. I will always remember him fondly. Bless you and the family.

What a wonderfully written description of one man's journey through life! The childhood photo as well speaks volumes. We should never forget the beneath the battered exterior of every aging body beats the heart of a little child. Dr Wilkerson, I salute you.....not just for the list of those things which you have accomplished in your distinguished career but for "the way in which you did it." You left a legacy of growth, commitment and compassion. That is your gift to your children, your friends and to all those whose lives you have touched.

I worked at Palestine Regional in transcription about seven years ago until the birth of my first daughter and there wasn't a time that I don't remember passing Dr. Wilkerson and saying how are you and he would always respond with, "another day in paradise." I was telling my husband of this yesterday, before the article came out in the paper and I was so glad that it touched so many! My condolences to you and your family. My family and I were so deeply saddened by this loss. Dr. Wilkerson was a wonderful human being and a kind, caring and giving doctor. He will be greatly missed by my family as well as so many other lives he touched. God bless your family. May he rest in peace.

I first met Dr Wilkerson when I was a nursing student and he would always pass out chocolate bars to the nursing staff in ICU. We got to know each other well over the ensuing years until I moved for military purposes. He was a great Doctor but a better man. I enjoyed my time knowing him and am saddened to hear about this today. Heaven gained another great person and I pray his family will be comforted and taken care of. God Bless

Dr Wilkerson was a great man. He always had a smile on his face no matter how his day was going. I am sorry for this loss and for his family. Just be thankful that he doesnt have to suffer anymore.

I never knew this gentleman, but I have to say that I love the choice in picture that you as a family chose. It's wonderful to see such a bright smiling face during such a sad time. Bless you and your families.
