James Winters Obituary

James L. Winters, 65, of Jeannette, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Affectionately known as "Biggie" or "So Big," he was born June 14, 1953, in Greensburg, a son of the late James. L. Sr. and Rosella Winters. He worked as a custodian for the Jeannette School District from March 1994 until his retirement in August 2015. He was generous, loving and devoted to his family. He was also an avid Steelers, Penguins and Jeannette Jayhawks fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Jo Neidigh Winters; and siblings, Viola Winters, Sheila Davis and David Davis. He will always be in the memory of and missed by his two children, Nicole Winters, of Jeannette, and Tina Winters, of Maryland; three grandchildren, Tyriq Winters, Alana Winters and Daveon Plummer; three siblings, Nathaniel "Singy" Winters and his wife, Cathy, of Latrobe, Ronald Davis, of New York, and Roxanne Winters, of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Additional viewing will be held from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rock of Refuge Church, 102 Clay Ave., Jeannette, with Pastor Roy Aiken officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.

I was saddened to read of Jimmy's passing. He was a wonderful person who was friendly to everyone he met. I will always remember his wonderful laugh and his kindness. I know he is in Heaven with the angels. God Bless his family.
