To. Doris Witherspoon and family. So sorry for your loss. My family is thankful for the kindness and wisdom he so genuinely shared. He was a giant amongst us mortals. Be comforted to know you are still loved.

To Doris, and family May the God we trust give you the strength and protect your mind so that you can get through this time. I remember when I wrote a poem for Mr Witherspoon, birthday one year the title was "What A Man".He was truly a man of Faith. The first time I met him He was so kind. Doris and family rest in know that God will comfort you and He will NEVER LEAVE you.

This is a Very Hard and Tring time losing such a Wonderful Man, Brother and Friend for me but especially hard for Doris Marie Witherspoon to grasp the pain in her heart for Doc was her life and she was his !! I was there a few days before his passing and witnessed the Love and Kindness of Doris Heart and Soul and I already knew how much Doc Love his "Sweatie as her always called her " It is and always will be an Unbreakable Bond, even though Doc is not there in body , His Spirit will always be there with Doris !!! I have talked to her and know what she is going through and know everyone handles this time differently, but this is Doris's SPECIAL TIME !!! So I ask as a Great Friend of Doc to Please Allow Doris to have the time she needs to Cherish her Special Time on her own and let her call you when she is ready She is a Very Strong Woman but just needs her space to settle her heart and mind and the only way this can happen is in her time As Twila Hill as mentioned here,during this time of the all the madness and the Pamademic of the Virus, only 10 people can gather in a funeral home plus it would be impossible to Choose 10 out of the Thousands of people that Doc and Doris have touched their heart so in time there will be a post with his Obituary for everyone to express their Feelings and Great Love for Doc and His Legacy !! Instead of a formal funeral, there will be time to pay your respects through the Facebook and a the Web Site ,,,, WWW.NEPTUNESOCIETY.COM which will stay up for one year and will be the Perfect place to express your Love and How Doc has Touched Your Life !!! If it has been anything like mine, you will have Lots to say and I encourage Everyone to write what is in your heart and How Much you have and Will Always Enjoy the Legacy of DOCTOR J.W.FEEL GOOD ,,The BLUES HEALER !! We have lost a Great Friend and Brother, but GOD has Gained A Wonderful ANGEL to Lead the HEAVENLY BLUES BAND OF ETERNITY !!!! GOD BLESS DORIS and GIVE HER STRENGTH ,,, AMEN & AMEN !!!

Mr. Witherspoon is truly missed playing at Concord Missionary Baptist Church. I loved to hear him play it moved my soul and spirit. Take your rest and I will keep your family in my prayers.

J W was a super great person! He has been a member of my family since 2002! His music and kind spirit will live on in our lives

Uncle, you taught me so much about being a true musician and a great human being. Your talent was remarkable. You could play anything without rehearsal. We love you uncle and will miss you. Thanks for always being there for me, during the good, bad, for always listening. While I'm sad, I rejoice in the lord knowing you loved your family, and played with the stars Internationally, from Detroit to TN, Germany you touch the world, Dr. Feel Good Blues Doctor James Witherspoon. JW was a good man, musician, father, friend, counselor. He loved his wife and family. He was a great role model to the youth of the Clarksville Community. He would talk to me and my husband giving us sound accurate information and solutions any problem. JW was a Christian and extremely wise. He was a part of our family. JW will be missed by me, my husband and my children. Doris may GOD bless and keep your family during this time of great loss. JW is in a good place with the LORD.
