I am so sad to hear of Dr. Woodburn's passing. He was my breast cancer surgeon about 16 years ago. He was always so kind and upbeat whenever I went for a follow up visit. I could see he was suffering in more recent years as his cancer took over. My deepest sorrow for his wife, Kay, and family and staff, Abbie. They were his strength to keep going.

Jim was the best of us...he cared so much for his patients. He also treated all of his colleagues with the utmost respect. When he would come down to radiology to go over a case, it was clear how much he wanted to work together to achieve the absolute best results for his patients. It was always such a pleasure working with him. Future surgeons have giant boots to fill, and one heck of a role model on which to aspire.

Dr Jim was a great surgeon who loved his job! His usual attire speaks of his readiness to fix whatever needed his attention. When I had RLQ pain he checked the area and walked me to surgery...I was a nurse on the old 5th floor at CMH and will remember him fondly...peace be with you Jim!

I shall remember Jim, always in his Scrubs, on his way to the OR. We have lost not only a caring surgeon who will be greatly missed but a wonderful, sensitive and outstanding gentle man. My deepest sympathies to Kay and your family.
