James Robert Wyer

It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Robert Wyer, age 44, on February 27th, 2023, in Redding, California.

James was born on March 20th, 1978, to Gina Gallien and Robert Lee Wyer in Fresno, California.

After graduating high school in Redding, California, James went on to graduate with departmental Honors from Chico State University, in Chico, California, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2001. He then went on to graduate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, in San Diego, California, with a Juris Doctor Degree in 2007. James had two daughters, Brittney Wyer and Briana Wyer, who he loved deeply.

In 2014 James met his wife, Jinny Wyer, in Redding, California. James and Jinny went on to have an adventurous and beautiful life, living every moment to the fullest and traveling as much as they could. Although the two did not have children together, James helped raise his two stepchildren and loved them as his own.

James was an Admissions Representative for a university and was passionate about helping others achieve their higher education goals. James was an advocate for higher education and motivated and inspired many people throughout his life.

James was an amazing chef and had a comedy cooking show called Meathead Munchies, that he poured his heart and soul into. When James was in a kitchen, his creativity and sense of humor guided him as he created the most delicious meals. James would light up any room that he entered and was loved by so many people. He cherished the relationships that he had with his mother, stepfather, sister, children, wife, family, and friends.

James is survived by his wife Jinny Wyer; his daughters Brittney Wyer and Briana Wyer; his mother Gina Gallien and his stepfather Chris Mayo; his sister Jennifer Arendt and brother-in-law Justin Arendt; his brother Robbie Wyer and sister-in-law Antoinette Wyer; his stepchildren Emily and Tristen; his nephews and nieces; his German Shepherds Liberty and Zeke; and all his family and friends who loved him so much. James is predeceased by his father, Robert Lee Wyer. James will forever be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Memorial Services will be held at 160 Masonic Boulevard, Redding, California 96003, on April 22nd, at 11:00 a.m.
