With our hearts shattered in a million pieces and with pain too great to bear, the Lord has taken our beloved son, brother, nephew and friend, Jamie Stott.
Jamie was born Nov. 2, 1971, in Scranton, Pa., to Kathy Gallagher Stott and Donald Stott and was a brother to D.J. Stott. He graduated from Scranton Central High School, class of 1989, before attending Keystone College to study psychology.
Jamie was always about longtime friendships, of which he had many, including Kasey, George, Justin, Brian, Bobby, Mark and Mal. To all his friends at the Polish Club, especially the Bad Corner, "You know who you are." He loved you guys so much. To Michelle, he loved you always.
Jamie was always a kind child and man. He was always there to help anyone. He loved his family, mother, father, brother and aunt unconditionally.
Jamie was employed in the family business, Stott Builders, as a roofing foreman. He loved spending time with his father and Ann Marie in the Poconos, where he also spent many great times hunting and golfing.
Jamie was blessed with special people in his life. Aunt Mary Ellen, stepmother Ann Marie Balla, a second father in Bob "Hooch" Hudak, Mary Karakas, and his buddies, Mike and Jr. McAndrew. He was an avid New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and Michigan Wolverines fan. He loved to cook for family on holidays and special occasions. He adored his dog, Reno, and cat, Miley.
Although our hearts continue to grieve, he will always be lovingly remembered. His selflessness, deep roots in his Catholic faith, and charitable, giving nature are reflected in his decision to be an organ donor, giving two kidneys to those in need.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine Stott, Dunmore; his father, Donald Stott, Pocono Pines; a brother, D.J. Stott, Scranton; his aunt, Mary Ellen Gallagher, Dayton, Nev.; an aunt and godmother, Linda Crofton, and husband, Uncle Tom, Scranton; Uncle Bob and Aunt Margaret Stott, Waverly; cousins, Sean and Tom Crofton, Bobby, Kevin and Tim Stott, Katie McNamara, and Megan Stott Haggerty.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Donald and Dorothy Stott, and Mary A. Gallagher.
The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 320 William St., Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 9 a.m. until the commencement of services. Masks required and social distancing procedures are in effect. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Arrangements entrusted to the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home LLC, 323 William St., Scranton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
