Today I was making sweet potato fries and remembered the times Jan and I would order them at a restaurant in Davis. We both loved to eat!!!

My sweet and wonderful friend, Jan. I will miss her so. We met at Southwest Airlines over 30 years ago in Sacramento. We had wonderful times together. Wonderful talks. Nights out at live theater. Trying new restaurants. I moved to Southern California in 1997 but always stayed with her when I was visiting Sacramento. I will miss you my friend.

I remember Jan as a sweet, kind person. I knew her from choir and many social events. I was so sorry to hear of her health issues and her final passing. She will not be forgotten .

Jan and I had many fun times during our friendship in California. We camped and cooked and sang in the choir and went to art shows and parties and protests over environmental issues, and she would give me incredible gifts and write me awesome letters. I miss her.

I got the opportunity to become friends with Jan while we both served on the Board of Directors of Stanford Settlement. We bonded over hard work and great laughter. We will really miss Jan and her warm smile. Rest in peace my friend,

Jan was definitely a renaissance woman! Such a kind, loving soul always concerned about the earth, the trees and the environment in general. She loved her cats dearly in the years that I knew her. She used to rescue homeless cats and take them where they can be cared for properly. She had such a kind heart. I miss her.
