Wareham - Jan Marie Cook, 68, of Wareham, MA, passed away on June 12, 2024.

Jan grew up with her 5 sisters in Middleboro and later worked as an LPN at Bridgewater State Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her husband Donald Cook of Wareham, MA. Sons: John Mazetis of Dighton, MA, Evan Mazetis and his wife Amanda of Taunton, MA, granddaughter Teagan Mazetis of Taunton, MA, sisters: Marcia Roy and husband Robert of Bridgewater, MA, Wanda Hofgesang and husband Matt of Kenvil, NJ, Stacia Young of Melbourne, FL, and Betty Newell and husband William of Groveland, MA. Jan was preceded in death by her parents: Miriam Mim E. (Thompson) Malewicz and Vincent (Doc) Malewicz. Sister, Lisa (Malewicz) Mann. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jan's dedication to her work and her family will always be remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jan's memory to a charity of your choice.

Jan and I attended the brockton hospital school of nursing RN program together for awhile but unfortunately it didn't work out for her but I am glad she stayed and continued with the LPN program

Jan and I worked together for many years at BSHospital. We spent many after hours having "tea" parties with other nurses and friends. She was a true friend and family person. I remember she caught the bouquet at my wedding. I'll think of her often.
