Jan Robertson

I remember Jan. I´ve known her family all my life. She had good raising. Her mother was my kindergarten teacher. I saw her dad and brother almost every day on the farm. All fine people.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I knew Jan all my life. I grew up on the farm next to her family's near Farrell, Ms. I saw her and visited with her a lot when I was at Ole Miss 1985-86. She always made me feel at home, like family. I regret that I haven't seen her in the past 20 years. But when we meet again, we will pick up right where we left off, as old friends do. My sympathy and prayers for her sweet family.

The Book of Wisdom tells us that, "the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.

In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure was taken for misery: And their going away from us, for utter destruction: but they are in peace.

And though in the sight of men they suffered torments, their hope is full of immortality. Afflicted in few things, in many they shall be well rewarded: because God hath tried them, and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace he hath proved them, and as a victim of a holocaust he hath received them, and in time there shall be respect had to them.

The just shall shine, and shall run to and fro like sparks among the reeds.
They shall judge nations, and rule over people, and their Lord shall reign for ever.

They that trust in him, shall understand the truth: and they that are faithful in love shall rest in him: for grace and peace is to his elect."

Jan's going away from this earth is painful, but I trust that she is at peace and will continue to be a positive influence on those of us who knew her. May she rest in peace.

I have been blessed with wonderful bosses and Jan was one of them! She was lively, joyful, energetic and truly concerned about all of us. There was never a dull moment with her. She loved her boys so much and would just beam with pride as she spoke of each of them. I am blessed and honored to have known such a beautiful spirit. She will be missed. #yikes

One of the kindest hearts and most intelligent minds I have ever known. So glad my daughter got to meet you on the Square. Your time was too, too short.

To Jan's family - I am sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to have been on the 2006 Alaskan Cruise with Jan and her roommate Betty. They were so much fun. It seems that Jan was the biggest spender or runner up. This was an actual award given on the ship. She spent a lot of time at UPS offices, etc., so that she could ship all her well-thought out gifts home. Some of you probably are the recipients of some of her souveniers. What a beautiful lady! The writeup was so well written. I know she will be missed but what a legacy!!!

Wow. From my first introduction to Jan many years ago to every following conversation since I have consistently been blessed, illuminated and challenged. I will forever be inspired. Rest in Peace.

What a wonderful tribute! I, her youngest cousin, wish that we had known each other more closely, and am sad that I didn't know that she was here in DC for Obama's inauguration; we could have gotten to visit. Let that be a lesson to the rest of us. Stay in touch with those you care about! I'm thinking about all you cousins at this sad time...

I have a very heavy heart hearing this news! Jan was the best! My life is better having worked for/with her. I always smile, and usually laugh, when I think her and I know she would love that too! Cheers, Jan! You will be missed, and thanks for all the great memories!

Jan was my boss at the Ole Miss Public Relations office during my senior year in 1982. I love that lady and can't wait to see her in Heaven! Everything about her was infectious, especially her enthusiasm for life, but mostly her spirit for caring and concern. I love you, Jan. Prayers to all of your family.

Jan was a wonderful, memorable lady, and her passing leaves a void. I feel for your loss.
