I have heard stories of Jane and her fellow "Octavians" all of my life. My mother, Helen McGhee (Rodgers) was part of that close knit group. I have always been amazed at how that bond has lasted all of these years - truly a rare and beautiful treasure. Jane was obviously a remarkable woman and I know she will be missed by many - including my mother. Our prayers and condolences for Bob, Jane's family, and many, many loved ones.

The Houston Alumnae chapter of Delta Gamma will miss Jane. She was a loyal member. Her interests were varied, and we always could count on a fascinating conversation with her at any time.

May the family of Ms. Appelbaum, be comforted by reflecting on all the wonderful times you enjoyed together. Also there will be a time when all causes of death and the grievous pains it brings will be gone forever.

Jane was always interested in new activities at University Place. We were "study buddies" for a conversational French class. Neither of us could "Parlez vous" very well but we had fun trying. I enjoyed getting to know Jane and wish I'd known her years ago.

Jane was my namesake. I was named after her, Jane Cecilia (Wilhelm) Myers. My mother, Marguerite (Henricks) Wilhelm worked for the Roberts taking care of Michaelyn when they owned the hotel. Sympathy extended to all the family.
