Jane Gill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2025.
Jane Margaret (Robohn) Gill, born September 17, 1959 in St. Charles, MO, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother who placed family above all else. She married Michael Dyer Gill on February 14, 1985, and shared a loving marriage with him until his passing in 2021. After his passing, she continued to center her life around the people she loved most. Jane passed away on April 4, 2025, surrounded by her children and family, after a brief but hard-fought illness. Her family takes solace in knowing that Jane has been called home and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Mike, in the presence of the Lord.

Jane's greatest legacy was her two beloved children, Anna Suzanne Gill (Phillip "Michael" Carapella) and Matthew Dyer Gill (Gina Marie Gill). She nurtured Anna and Matthew with a fierce, steady love and remained a constant source of support and strength in their lives. Jane was deeply proud of the people they became and the families they built. She cherished her role as "Grammy" and found immense joy in her granddaughter and namesake, Freida Jane Rose Gill, daughter of Michael and Anna, along with their other children Dominic Michael Carapella, Alexandrea Mary Carapella, Abagail Elizabeth Carapella, and Samatha Marie Carapella.

Jane was especially close to her family-her sisters were her best friends, and she was a devoted caregiver to her brother. Her deep bond with her extended Robohn family was a constant in her life, and she will be deeply missed at the annual family reunion, where her presence was always a source of warmth, laughter, and connection. In recent years, Mike and Jane's friend Sergio Jiménez López became like family, honoring Mike's wish to be there for Jane after his passing. Sergio and his family embraced Jane and her loved ones with genuine warmth and generosity, becoming a cherished part of the circle she held most dear. Jane's unwavering support for her family, her nurturing spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel like they were part of something special are just a few of the many reasons she will never be forgotten.

A proud graduate of Duchesne High School class of 1977, Jane carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout her life. In her early years, Jane worked at Critical Technology before transitioning to a fulfilling role as a homemaker and volunteer, dedicating herself to helping others for many years. Most recently, she worked at Thies Nursery, where her love for plants and nature flourished. Whether crafting a quilt for a loved one, cooking an amazing meal, or tending to her garden, Jane's hands were always busy creating beauty that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Jane and Mike shared a deep love for travel, spending many winters in the Florida Keys in their RV. Over the years, they formed close bonds with a community of fellow travelers and locals, who became like family. Their time in the Keys was filled with laughter, adventure, and the lasting friendships they forged along the way.

Jane is survived by her son, Matthew and wife Gina, daughter Anna and partner Mike; her granddaughter Freida Jane, and her chosen grandchildren Dominic, Alexandrea, Abagail, and Samantha; her siblings Mary Alsup Niedergerke and husband Bob, Patricia Ann Totaro, Charles Michael Robohn, and John Gregory Robohn; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Freida Marie Robohn, her sister-in-law Janet Robohn (wife of Charles Michael), and her devoted husband, Mike. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was also preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Services will be held Friday April 11, 2025 at 11:00am, with visitation starting at 9:30am at Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church in St. Charles, Missouri.

Jane- I will be forever grateful for the only advice that actually worked when I was having issues with the girls. Your smile and personality always lit up the bar. You are greatly missed. Please keep an eye out for us all.

Jane was one vibrant girl in spite of her health issues. She was a fun member of our neighbor group in Shadowcreek subdivision. Always up for a driveway or backyard gathering, she was spunky and creative. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

I felt great sadness when I heard the news. Jane was a good friend throughout high school. I remember countless afternoons after school playing spades on her kitchen countertop. Although we lost touch over the years. It was wonderful to reunite at our reunion. My sincere condolences to her family, and I hope you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I am so terribly sorry for the loss of Jane. I met Jane many years ago when I cared for her brother at the home he lived in. I remember her coming by frequently to visit and would take him to family functions or just plant flowers in the front yard of his home. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
