Dr. Gillett cared for my father after a bad bicycle accident. She was so kind caring and yet gave a complete sense of being able to protect his best interest and collect the necessary information. I'm deeply saddened by her passing. She was the best.

It has been a long time since I last shoveled Dr. Jane's driveway, cut her grass or raked her leaves. It has been equally as long since she helped me in my own slow and frustrating recovery from a brain injury. Although these happend long ago, when I heard of her passing, the loss of Dr. Jane I felt in my heart made it all seem like it happened yesterday. Dr. Jane will be missed.

it is always difficult to read of the passing of school friends many years ago, but to hear of their success and the lasting impression they have made in their lives is heart warming. My deepest sympathy to all of "Dr."Janes family and friends.

We are truly saddened to learn of Jane's death. She was a wonderful, caring, fun and truly sincere individual - a great neighbour on Erie Ave. in London. Her impact in health care has been so significant - such a huge loss, too soon. Our sincerest sympathy to her family.

In memory of an amazing person that will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to Dr. Jane Gillett’s family and friends. As a service provider in the ABI field it has been a great privilege to have had the opportunity to attend so many of Jane’s presentations. You will be remembered and respected by so many for your enormous contribution to the ABI field. Furthermore, on a personal level I would like to thank Jane on behalf of my late brother in law, Mark for taking him on as a patient and recognizing that there was still potential for an improved quality of life for him. My Sister and family will always be grateful for the help you gave Mark in minimizing his pain and improving his quality of life for his latter years.

Ann George, NRS
And on behalf of my sister Reina Todd.

Our heart goes out to the family of Dr. Jane Gillett. Jane was our neighbour on Erie Avenue in London. We enjoyed many street BBQs, Christmas parties, sidewalk chats, walks and laughs. She used to regularly check the kids' helmets when they rode down the street on their bikes to see if they were fitting correctly. Incredibly, Jane also became our daughter's doctor when, at seven months, she began exhibiting some strange and disturbing head movements. As a friend and neighbour, we were lucky enough to bypass Jane's long waiting list to benefit from her brilliance. Within days, Jane diagnosed Gabrielle with a rare condition, saving her from a certain misdiagnosis with years of inappropriate treatment, and us from much heartache. It was Sandifer's syndrome - an unusual expression of it at that - and it closely mimicked infantile spasms. After the diagnosis, I'll never forget Jane driving down the street on her way home from work, stopping at the end our driveway when she saw us to roll down the window and ask how Gabrielle was doing. She did this daily until Gabrielle's symptoms disappeared. How incredibly lucky to have had Jane as a neighbour and friend. Gabrielle is now 12 and a beautiful dancer who long outgrew her condition. We were so very sad to hear of Jane's passing. Please know she will remain very much alive, always, as part of our famiy's story and the health of our beautiful daughter.

My sincere sympathy to Dr. Jane Gillett’s family and dear friends. I was privileged to be able to call Jane a friend. She was well known and immensely respected for her tremendous contribution to the pediatric neurology/ABI/medical fields and equally, Jane was loved and valued as a caring, compassionate and generous friend. Jane’s sense of humour, magnanimous personality and kind spirit will truly be missed, but held very dear in the hearts by those who knew and loved her.

So very sorry to hear of Jane's passing.
She was my son's neurologist since his car accicent 2002 (age 28 now).
Because I am his mother, and total caregiver I took him to all of his appointments he had with Jane, and hours of discussions on medications and options for my son Chris..and even general life with her.. We had become very good friends. She has met my family and had been to my house once to make a video in trying to start hyperbaric therapy for Chris.
She will be deeply missed by all of us.

I just finished reading one of your pediatric reports Jane...........I still can't be believe we lost you. You were a giant in the field of Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury. I love what you did for the field of pediatric ABI because that is what I started long ago too when I advocated for Catastrophic designation to be specific to children- those were the CAT-DAC days of the early 90s! I very much admired your energy over the years ! You left way too soon. My sincere condolences to the family and friends.
