I just saw this. Ms. Jensen was my teacher at Kit Carson. She was my favorite teacher. She did not take any crap from her students. Some called me her teachers pet. She would seat us each week in the rank of our test scores. I was usually the first one. I loved math and wanted her to be proud of me. She was the only teacher that I really loved. RIP sweet Ms. Jensen.

I do agree with Kelly.
My Father had her as a teacher and told me she was a no nonsense teacher then, and she was!!!
Rest in peace, Miss Jensen.

I learned more in her math class than I did any other class my entire life. She was a strong disciplinarian, and if you followed her rules you walked away with a knowledge of math, that you would use for life.

Jane was a distant cousin of mine and I remember her primarily growing up in the 1950-60's in Sacramento. I remember hearing from friends who went to Kit Carson that Jane was a teacher to be respected.. tough but fair. I had reconnected with her about 7 years ago and she was still very sharp and alert and advised me on some family history. My condolences to family.

Miss Jensen was definately one of the most memorable teachers I had. I had her for math at Kit carson Junior High. I also delivered the Sacramento Union to her. Affectionately known as Judo Jane, she had a positve impact on thousands of students. RIP Miss Jensen.

I had Miss Jensen for my home room teacher. She always had compled control at all times. It was in the late 50's and I thought she was kind of pretty. But the kids gave her such a hard time. But I think she won.

I read about Miss Jensen's death today on a link posted on Facebook. Wow-thinking about her brings back alot of memories of Kit Carson in the late 70's. By then she had obviously been teaching there for a while and possibly her teaching style had changed over the years. She labeled me as a " social butterfly" and I knew I would not fair well in her class so I transferred out but never forgot her as many others have not....She and Miss Burns were two of a kind never to be replicated. It is true that no matter to whom I mention that I went to Kit Carson, everyone regardless of age,has a memory of Miss Jensen. I was struck by how many years she taught at K.C. and the fact she was almost 100 years old when she died. They don't make them like that anymore!!!!! God Bless You, Julia Noto

I am please to say that my decease husband and I both worked with Jane. She was what Bill called an "impact person" in both her professional and personal life. Both Bill and I considered her a friend. She was the best. Karen Hallett

I had Jane as a teacher at Kit Carson Jr. High School... She wanted us to reach our full potential!! One teacher we all remember!! And never forget! If I recall she taught there when my father (passed) went to KC! Her ruler ruled, yet made us who we are! God Bless her family, students and friends for her loss!

Ms. Jensen was a neighbor of ours for countless years on B Street. She kept to herself and had quite the reputation. She was always referred to as Judo Jane for reasons I can only imagine? She was the recipient to many cruel "lawn Jobs" as I look back. May she rest in peace! God Bless Her Soul!

I was struck with a profound sense of gratitude for the life of Jane Jensen, which life she gave to education. I had math classes with her at Kit Carson Jr. High in the mid-50's. She could teach an unruly class of boys with discipline tempered by grace, perspective and some humor. She was a great teacher and an example of a life well-lived.

I'm pleased to have been one of Miss Jensen's students at Kit Carson Jr. High in the mid-1950s. She was remarkably effective in the classroom and taught us with humor and fairness. She took an interest in each student, always challenging us to do our best, to treat one another with respect, and to plan for our futures. She was an outstanding teacher. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your aunt.
