Janet Petillo Brown Lazarus, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 25, 2024. She will always be known for her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter by all her friends and family. Her positive outlook on life unfortunately took a turn after a multi-year battle with cancer that most would have never known she was fighting. She passed peacefully with her family by her side at home in Las Vegas on Monday.
Born in Neptune, New Jersey to the late Patsy Petillo and Patricia Petillo (Hartman), Janet and her family lived in and around Ocean Township, New Jersey most of her early life before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 2005.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband, James Lazarus, her sons, Patrick Lazarus and William Lazarus, and her sister, Teray Ciezak. Her life was fulfilled with happiness by also getting to see the birth of her two granddaughters, Leandra Lazarus and Macy Lazarus in 2022 and 2023 after her first major health battle in 2019.
In life, Janet was a source of light to all who knew her. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She lived the later part of her life through her "boys", as her husband and two sons meant everything to her.
A small burial service with her family will be held at Palm Eastern Cemetery in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 4th. A Celebration of Life will be held that evening at Giuseppe's Bar & Grille (Henderson) from 4pm-7pm for all who have known her.
