Very sad to see your mom's obit in the paper. I just wanted to express my sympathy to you and your family.
Jane was my nursing supervisor at Shadyside and a great lady to know both personally and professionally.
I worked at Shadyside for 20 years and have many fond memories of the wonderful people who worked there back then.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My Mom died this time last year and she was 83 too.
Fond regards to you and your family,

Dear Patty,
Brian and I were sad to hear the news of your Mom's death. We have some fond memories of Jane from our visits to your place when she was there. She had a delightful spirit and even though we barely knew her, she made it seem like we were old friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your siblings and other family. Much love from us.

Dear Patty, Donna, John and Mary,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother. She was such a wonderful person and always remembered my family over the years. I can still see her sitting at my Mother's place reading her book. She would always make sure she left me a good book to read when I would come down to visit during her stay. I enjoyed seeing her at Mother's 80th party. It was a grand reunion for all of us, especially between our Mothers.
She loved you all very much and Thank you Jane for loving our family too.

Dear, Patty, Donna, John and Mary and to all your extended family, and Lee and Brian,
Yes, so many memories and lucky to have just a recent one in May 2009 at our Mom's 80th party. Your mother (grandmother) wrote me a thank you note for the fine party. I thought that was different but that tells you the kind of person she was, always kind and considerate. We are so lucky our mother's grew close so we had the opportunity to love and appreciate Jane.as she did the same to us. And most of all she loved all of you.
- Thank you Jane for loving us too -

I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. Mitnick (I still have a hard time calling her Jane). I met her when I was a student nurse and worked at Shadyside over my summer vacations. I can still see her in that starched white uniform and cap. I think that she was one of the last nurses in the hospital to put her cap into storage. A few years later I had the privledge of working with her when she went back to staff nursing. She was an amazing woman and an wonderful nurse. She taught me so much and I will always be grateful to her.
My deepest sympathy to all of her family.

Donna, Patty, John & Mary:
So many memories and happy times to cherish of time spent with your mom and each of you over so many good years. She has always held a special place in my heart as a mother-in-law, "Nunie Jane" to Brian and T.J. and an all-a-round good influence on all those she loved. Jane always made room for one more (or two - or three) at her dinner table. And true to her profession . . . she took care of just about every one of us at one time or another.
She was loved and will be missed in our world. But, I know she has a welcoming committee waiting on the other side. Thanks for everything, Jane.
