In memory of

Many thanks to Dorothy for tracking me down and calling me with this sad news. I am so saddened, and I know Jane's family is heartbroken. My thoughts are with you.
Jane and I met in first grade and were best friends until my family moved away from Kettering. Even then, we stayed in touch through the years. We saw each other about a year ago, for the first time in over 20 years, and it was like old times.
Jane was so generous, kind, and warm. I know she leaves behind many, many loved ones, and a legacy that will live on.

Dear Pepper family -
Jane was a very special person. She and I spent alot of time together in junior high and high school, cheerleading and having fun. I can still see her smile, hear her laugh and remember how beautiful she was when she sang for us.
She was very special to me and I'm sure she will be greatly missed. I will pray for your family in the weeks and months to come.

Dear Pepper family:
Although I knew Jane in both Jr. and Sr. High School, my sweetest memory is from a few years ago at Alterra nursing home: I was visiting my Mom and Jane was with her Grandmother - although Jane had not seen me for more than 20 years, she recognized me and made a point of coming over to speak to my Mother and I, and to offer support to a former classmate from 20 years prior who was dealing with an aging parent. Jane was a lovely and graceful person, but I am sure that you already know that - her life had value, and God found her perfect on the day He called her home.

I remember Jane from choir in high school at Fairmont. We performed at the Arcade in downtown Dayton for a Christmas concert. Our final song was "Silent Night" in which she sang the final solo, "Sleep in Heavenly peace." May that be exactly what she is doing.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pepper,
As you may remember, Jane and I were friends age13-16, when I lived with my father in Ohio. Jane and I had met at church and instantly became good friends. She was a beautiful, happy, optimistic friend. I have many fond memories.
My heart goes out to you during this tragic time for you and your family. I am shocked by this devastating, tragic death of your beautiful Jane.
My prayers are with you.
My deepest sympathies for this tragic loss.

“Lil’ Janie” was my girlfriend at Purdue. Our relationship took place over (3) years after meeting at Domino’s Pizza – she was a “phone girl” and I was a “pie man”. I hold very fond memories (and lots of photos) of our time together. We took different paths when I graduated. I knew she lived in Broad Ripple and have been in the neighborhood many times. I've often thought and spoke of her to my family, friends and kids. I am glad now to hear the details of her life, but deeply saddened by her death. Clearly, she continued to be the productive, happy, social and giving person that I knew. Reading the notes this morning, I’d agree that “sunshine” was the best way to describe and the way I’ll always remember her. The Lord has blessed Jane and taken her in. My thoughts and prayers are with Dot, Tony & family.

Dear Pepper Family
I am so sorry to hear about Jane. I was her sorority pledge mom at Purdue and have the fondest memories of her fabulous smile, infectious laugh and kind heart. Even though it has been over 20 years since I have seen her, Jane and I have exchanged Christmas cards every year, updating each other on our lives. I will miss her.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pepper,
No words could possibly express the sorrow you must feel. Though I have many memories of Jane, my fondest will always be of Jr. High football when we would come so close to winning, but fall short. The cheerleaders and players would cry together. She was a wonderful person and the world is now a lesser place without her. May God bless you durring this trying time.

Dear Pepper family,
My heart is heavy with the news of Jane's death. She was such an awesome friend and has left all of us with wonderful memories. She knew how to live life to its fullest and taught each and everyone one of us how to do the same.
I pray you will have the strength to face the tough days that lie ahead and that whoever is responsible for this senseless act will be caught soon.
With deepest sympathy,
Marsha Matson (Atchison)
