Mr. John Vincent Lasorsa

John LaSorsa, age 80, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Martin Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Italy and moved to Bronx, New York when he was 7 years old and lived there for 55 years. He then became a resident of Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1995. John worked as a Revenue Collector for the City of New York for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved his boat and enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Leatrice LaSorsa of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, brothers; Anthony LaSorsa of Puerto Rico and Nicolas LaSorsa of Bronxville, New York, sister; Mary Farina of Boynton Beach and only grandson; John Joseph LaSorsa. John was preceded in death by his only son, Frank LaSorsa. A visitation will be held at the Byrd, Young and Prill Port Saint Lucie Funeral Home on Friday, June 15, 2007 from 4-8 PM with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 11 AM. Donations may be made in John�s memory to Treasure Coast Hospices at 1201 SE Indian Street Stuart, Florida 34994.
