Jane C. Salay Belle Vernon Jane C. Salay, 67, of Belle Vernon and Duncannon, Pa., passed away after a brief struggle with cancer on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. A daughter of the late James J. and Julia Chomosh Salay, she was born in North Charleroi on Sept. 2, 1945. She was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church of Belle Vernon where she had served as financial secretary until her recent illness. She was the Chief Official Reporter for the Official Reportersâ Office under the direction of the Chief Clerk at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Jane retired after 40 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judi Assad in 1995. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law; James W. and Amy Salay of Ligonier; brother-in-law, Cyril J. Assad of Oakmont; nieces, Audra Assad of Oakmont, Christa Assad of San Francisco, Calif., Becky Jane Salay of Washington, D.C., Katie Salay and her husband, Matthias Corrotte of Washington, D.C., Angie Salay Oakes and her husband, David, of Moodus, Conn., Lauren Salay and her boyfriend, Sean Reed, of Alexandria, Va.; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; Janeâs companion, Jeff Bielawski; and a close circle of friends including Sue Kistler and Andrea Faber; and her loyal dog, Lucy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, PA 15012, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in the Lynnwood Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Hernstrom officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. If friends wish, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lynnwood Lutheran Church.
