Janell Piwowarczyk Williams, born on February 22, 1960, in Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Mount Airy, Maryland, at the Kline Hospice House, surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters. She was 64 years old.

Janell was the cherished third child of Dorothy and Ernie Piwowarczyk and a beloved sister to Jan Piwowarczyk, Jill Nelms, and Jolene Park. In 1985, she married David Williams, with whom she shared a devoted and loving partnership.

Janell's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, David, and her two daughters, Taryn Williams-Lefenfeld, married to Jacob Lefenfeld, and Kara Williams, married to Devin Haas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her granddaughter, Charlotte "Charlie" Lefenfeld, who brought immense happiness to her life. Janell had a deep love and connection to her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Dorothy Piwowarczyk, and her brother Jan Piwowarczyk.

Her professional career was marked by her dedication and expertise, having worked for many years at IBM and Lockheed Martin. Janell was known for her passion for polka dancing and stained glass art, which brought joy and beauty to those around her.

Janell's legacy is one of love, kindness, and creativity. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her vibrant spirit and the love she shared with them.

A private service will be held to honor Janell's life and her ever-lasting impact on those she loved in the coming months. Details of the celebration of Janell's life will be forthcoming. In the meanwhile, have a little piece of chocolate in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kline Hospice House, Frederick Health Hospice, or American Heart Association, in Janell's memory.

I was stunned to hear about Janell's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to David, Taryn and Kara as well as her extended family.

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Janell at IBM/Lockheed for many years and was lucky enough to share an office with her for a while as well. We became good friends over the years and often shared stories of life and our families as we grew older. Found out early on that she grew up in a house across the street from my current home and that her dad (Ernie P) was my neighbor. She made our time working in the IBM PC store a blast as we shared much laughter together during those times. I valued her friendship and will miss my good friend "Janell".
