I am saddened to learn of the passing of Janelle. Her and Bob were dear to this family.
Never before have i known two people so in love and dedicated to helping others and their community.
Their commitment to veterans was amazing.

...til we meet again.

Will never forget the trip to Wichita Falls with her and Nelda. Everyone was calling to see why we were running late getting there. We had to pull over several times because she could not drive for laughing from the stories we were telling.

I took mother to our condo in Steamboat Springs,CO. She loved it! She loved the beauty of the snow covered mountains. She loved travelling w/her kids.

"There is much I can tell many about my Mom. She loved to laugh & was the hit at all social gatherings. When I was 5 yrs old she took me everywhere with her...I felt like we were always on an adventure. I remember Mom rented a house in Arlington,Texas & I hated going to school there. So,a whole week & half I skipped school (3rd grade). I'll never forget that for the rest of my life Bob Allen thanked me for skipping school so he could marry my mother sooner. He packed us both up & took us to live in Cedar Hill with he and daughter, Becky. Bob always thanked me for skipping school...that only time. I was very close to my mother, very attached to her & she in turn the same. We were inseparable, she kept me with her after my dad & her separated. And it was FUN! I miss you mom, but, now you are with your Love & that's where she so yearned to be was with Bob..." -Annette Birchler (Plano, TX)

My mom was so dear to me that I always feared this day and how I would go on. I am thankful to have spent our last two visits talking, laughing and reminiscing about the past. Although we talked most everyday, there will never be enough time or conversations to satisfy the heart for those we love. Mother's Day and each day will never be the same. Rest well my guardian angel.

Jan was indeed a force for library service. Her life was a thread in the Duncanville Community connecting the past and present with the future.

Jan was such a sweet and wonderful woman I had the honor of not only being her friend but to be apart of Post 81 ladies Auxillary when she was President and working at the city with her as well.

My Grams was one of my best friends. I love her very much, but it is bittersweet for all of us........She missed my grandpa Bob, so much that her heart just never truly healed. They both now can be reunited in heaven together forever, with her Lord and Savior! Love you my sweet Grams, Toni
