I have always enjoyed how Janet added a whole new dimension to Issac's writing and loved everyone of their collaborations. So did my children; her legacy lives on through the ripples in the pond...

I enjoyed my cousin relationship with Janet. My husband and I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Manhattan Temple. Janet walked over to the temple to find out exactly when we were coming. She said she felt like an infidel knocking on the door.
She invited us to the annual Asimov Debates at the American Museum on Natural History where we got to eat buffet lunch with the scientists before the debates. That was a choice experience.

She'd say, When you're not busy saving souls, let's have lunch.
I'm a better person because of her!

My thoughts are with Robyn & David, and the Asimov & Jeppson families. And while I agree with Dr. Asimov's views of the afterlife (or lack thereof), at least Janet is with him now to share that endless, dreamless sleep together.

I only spoke to her once briefly ... by phone ... oh so long ago ... Janet was everything to Isaac Asimov ... Little did I know in 1989 ... when I had a rather lengthy discussion with Isaac Asimov...that it was Janet who provided Isaac the fortitude to be there...Being there for him was the reason I could exchange thoughts about infinity, existence, the future... I owe her eternally ... I would love to read her biography....

I had the great pleasure of spending some time with Dr. Asimov a few years ago, including a delightful lunch at her favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant. She made me laugh by telling me that her brand of purse was the "official handbag of NYC's old ladies." She was funny, irreverent, and engaged and I feel lucky to have known her.

I saw Janet on only a few occasions, a woman of sparkling wit and (when she was with Isaac) an attitude of sheer delight. My condolences to Robyn and the rest of the family.

To the Asimov Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your hearts are heavy at this time. May the " God of all comfort" bring comfort to your family (2 Cor 1:3). Your loved one will be at rest and in God's memory.
