Janet C. Borkenhagen, 95 of Oconomowoc, joined her husband and went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Shorehaven.

Janet was born on January 4, 1930, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Ralph and Lauretta (Bergner) Thomas. She married Robert Borkenhagen on June 18, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stone Bank and the couple had 3 children. Janet was active in the church, participating in the choir and teaching Sunday School. After their children had grown up, Janet and Robert enjoyed traveling by motorcycle, whether it was going for breakfasts or riding around their home in Florida. They also enjoyed trips up north to the Rhinelander area. The couple shared a love for aviation and Janet earned her multi-engine pilot license. Janet was an excellent mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.

Janet is survived by her children Robert Borkenhagen, Lynn (Jack) Scarborough, and Bruce (Terri) Borkenhagen, and grandchildren Heather (Shawn), Lorin and Katie (Devon).

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Donald "Skip" Thomas.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers of Shorehaven and Vitas Hospice for the loving care provided to Janet.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Janet will be laid to rest at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Stone Bank.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's name to JAARS (https://www.jaars.org/about-us) would be appreciated by the family.
