Janet Holznagel

Janet Holznagel, 85, of the Bradley Home in Meriden, formerly of Wallingford, died peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to David Holznagel.

Janet was born in West Pittson, PA, on August 26, 1937, a daughter of the late Boyd and Grace (Anderson) Hess.

Janet moved to Connecticut shortly after the death of her father where she met the love of her life and soon started a family. Janet's great joy is family. To her family was not an important thing, it's everything.

Janet is survived by her three children, Patricia Brooks and her husband Philip of Terryville, Bruce Holznagel and his wife Diane Yarmouth Port, MA and Gail Holznagel of Plymouth, MA; has five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Gullens, her brother, Franklin Hess and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Holznagel's family would like to thank the staff of the Bradley Home for the exceptional care they provided to her.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden, CT 06451. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
