Janet, an avid reader, patient, kind, and wise - always moving, smiling, and listening. Our time is so very precious and short. I write this to honor you because I believe you are 'there' reading the words written in your memory, witnessing the memories, and how much you are missed and loved by the many lives you've touched. Thank you for sharing books with me and for your love of family and reading. Rest in the stillness, beauty and light. Peace to you and your family. Never forgotten - Indira

Janet was the the 1st person to meet me on my 1st day at OSC in 1999 as I walked thru the door and took me around and showed me where the supplies, my desk, copier, etc. were at. Over the many years, I've enjoyed her company, the small talk, chats, her wit and humor. For the last 25 years, sometimes we worked on same floor, some years we didn't, but we always ran into each other in hallway, elevator, and it was always such a pleasure to meet her, to catch up on news, she was one of my favorite persons, that even on a gloomy, rainy, cold day - would bring a smile to my face and brighten up my day. Janet never sat still, she was always on the move, always doing things for people around the office! I will miss you Janet and your humor, and can't believe I won't run into you anymore at OSC, and always ask you, when are you retiring Janet?:-). RIP.

Janet is sadly missed by all in our ERP Admin group, although in my case she was always picking on me for never seeming to do any work, as her timing was always impeccable where I "would" be standing around when she showed up. I had told Janet that I was an avid movie collector so she would bring me in bags of surplus movies that the Hudson Library were selling off at a dollar a movie. A great deal so I bought quite of lot of movies from Janet. Considering she had to get the bus into work every day, an hour and a half each way I believe, and she is hauling those bags of movies in was quite an amazing thing that she did. She was also a prolific reader, and I enjoyed quite a few conversations regarding books that she'd read. RIP Janet!!!!

Janet was such a special part of the State Comptroller's Office Community. She served on countless teams and committees and was always volunteering to do more. My favorite story about Janet was the time she was supposed to bring in bagels for a Volunteer Team bake sale, but it ended up being the day of a huge blizzard. But Janet wouldn't be deterred, she still took the bus into work through the snow, even though it took twice as long to get to Albany as usual. The storm was so bad that they eventually suspended bus service and Janet was stuck in Albany. But that didn't bother her, she decided to walk through the snow to the train station to get home. Thankfully someone saw her walking and gave her a ride to the train station. It would seem crazy to anyone else to go through all that for bagels, but that was the kind of person Janet was. She had such a big heart, and if she could do something to help someone else, that became her priority over all else. She will be so dearly missed. Rest in power, sweet lady!
