Janet Pearcy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 8, 2024.
Janet Sue Pearcy, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 31, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1942 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Clarence W. and Lois Lidy.

Janet graduated from Kokomo High School in 1959 and; thereafter participated in some college courses. Janet married Jerry R Pearcy on October 2, 1959 and they remained happily married for 51+ years until he preceded her in death in June of 2011.

She was a member of Gray Road Baptist Church in Indianapolis and The Moose (Golden Rule 874 in Eustis, Florida).

She retired from Perry Township School System as Treasurer. Janet enjoyed being outside whether it was bird watching, raking leaves, walking/hiking, or just with family and friends. She had always been a big Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash fan. She was blessed with seeing 2 of their concerts.

Janet enjoyed anything nature and travel. Her favorite TV series was Blue Bloods which she loved watching with her sister. She was a big Colts and Tony Dungy fan, of which she had met and "known" Tony and his family personally.

Janet absolutely loved their place at Lake Freeman. Many memories of work and play filled her life with joy, both before and after her in-laws, Arthur and Annabell Schauberger, passed away. Continuing on their legacy has been a labor of love which is one of her dreams that continue on through her children and grandchildren.

She was very disappointed that she couldn't participate and go to church more often at the end of her days. She was a very devout Christian and enjoyed her daily dedications and the links that her son, Jeff and daughter-in-law would share with her.

Next to God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, her greatest love and joys of her life was her family. Her siblings were always there for her. They all had a very special relationship. Her love for her children was boundless!! Her love and joy for her grandchildren was sooooo very special. All of her family held special places in her heart, but her 2 grandchildren filled her heart to a point of no return! They were her angels.

Janet is survived by her children, Joanna Whiteis (Robert), Jeffrey Pearcy, and Joseph Pearcy (Cher); grandchildren, Arthur H. Pearcy and Alexandra H. Pearcy; siblings, Donald Lidy, Jerry Lidy (Pearlie), Danny Lidy, Roy Lidy (Traci), and John Lidy (JoAnn); step-sister-in-law, Pamela Cahlhoun Morgan; and multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Pearcy; siblings, Rex Lidy (Norreen), Ray Lidy, Joyce Harrington Lidy, Gene Lidy, Bill Lidy (Brenna), Alice Lidy; Sister-in-law, Ann Lidy; and Step Brother-in-law George (Corky) Morgan.
