I first met Janet in the late 80s when the Hartford Stage put out a request for volunteer ushers. Janet was all in! With her friendly manner and keen mind she ushered as well or better than anyone. Then of course we got to enjoy the shows for free. And she didn't miss a beat.
But she was much more than a person who could do anything (just about) without vision; she leaves an amazing legacy of good works as well as decades-old loving friendships, which is admirable as well as inspirational.

Janet was a a lovely woman, funny, friendly, and very bright! She was a ray of light here at the tower, always a pleasure to see her.

Janet was a force to be reckoned with. She knew her mind and was fiercely independent. As part of our Bushnell Tower book group she had much to contribute.

Janet was amazing. She never let being blind stop her from pursuing her activities. She took great joy in singing with her synagogue´s choir; and, was a regular traveler by bus to the grocery store, lunch, and to visit her mother. She was a good friend and neighbor, and loved our dog, Hector.
