Janet Whitmore Obituary
MANSFIELD: Janet Loraine Wilson Whitmore, 61, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at her residence following a short illness.
Janet was born October 9, 1949 in Johnson City, Tennessee to Ralph H. and Della (Tipton) Wilson. She worked as a cashier at Kroger for 25 years and was affectionately known as "Kroger Lady" for her helpfulness. Janet enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing bingo, and going to casinos.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Glenn "David" Whitmore; three sons, Dan (Taryn) Berry of Lexington, Jeff (Vivian) Berry of Hinesville, Georgia, and Mike (Tammi) Berry of Shelby; two step-sons, Michael (Cathy) Whitmore of Ontario and Jason Whitmore and friend, Renee of Galion; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Juanita Gail Daniel; and one sister-in-law, Kimberly (Ken) Hockensmith all of Mansfield.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Elmer and Opal Whitmore.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (former American Legion Bldg.), Mansfield. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at the funeral home with Bishop Gregory L. Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 371 Cline Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44907.

Janet was an incredible woman.It has been one month today, and the loss of Janet hurts deeply, more than any words can say. There will never be enough words to describe her beauty,inside or out. Janet is a light that will forever shine in our hearts. To have known her was to love her, and what a blessing and joy to have had that opportunity. I love you all.
