Janey Sue Elias

Janey Elias of North Port, Florida passed away at age 61 in the early morning on May 6th, 2025 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in North Port, Florida. Originally from Grapeville, Pennsylvania, Janey was born on July 22nd, 1963, the third of five children to Joan and William Swartz Sr. in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Janey was a fierce and loyal partner, friend, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. She was incredibly hardworking and always made friends wherever she worked, traveled or visited. Janey was a tough woman with a soft soul. She was an avid beach and sunshine lover and always made the best rigatoni for her family. She is preceded in death by her son, James (Jimmy) Robert Elias, her father, William Swartz Sr., and eldest brother, William Swartz Jr. She is survived by her mother, Joan Swartz (Overly), partner, Luke Harrold, daughter, Angela Elias and her partner, Jaime Sepulveda, grandsons, Carter and Armani, brother, James Swartz and his wife Diane (Leonard), sister, Wendi Crusan (Swartz), brother, Jeffrey Swartz and his wife Jennifer (Thropp), her beloved dog, Jax and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Janey's birthday, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the Greensburg Church of the Brethren located at 554 Stanton Street, Greensburg, Pa 15601. Service begins at 4:30 PM with dinner after at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Janey and her son, Jimmy Robert.
