Janice Louise Bettelon (née Bodiker), known affectionately to her family as Grandma Jane, passed away on July 17, 2024, at the Vancrest Health Center in New Carlisle, Ohio, at the age of 97. She was born at home in a two storied brick home located on St. Rt. 40 in Brandt, OH on February 4, 1927. She was a long time resident of Tipp City, OH and was a cherished member of her community and a devoted steward of nature.

A 1945 graduate of Bethel High School, Jane dedicated many years of service to Spring Hill Nursery in Tipp City, Ohio, where her passion for plants and gardening flourished. Her love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her, and her gardens were a testament to her skill and dedication.

Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Harold "Tater" W. Bettelon, in January 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Catherine E. (Bodiker) Puterbaugh and her husband Robert, as well as her son Gregory L. Bettelon and his wife Sandra J. (Loughlin). She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing through her family, including her son Eric E. Bettelon and his wife Tambi M. (Lachey) of Medway, OH; Five grandchildren and their spouses: James B. Bettelon and partner Rhonda White of Piqua, OH; Carrie J. (Bettelon) Makris and her husband Cliff of Piqua, OH; Natasha N. (Bettelon) Frasher and her husband Ryan of Lebanon, OH; Jedidiah B. Bettelon and his wife Rebecca (Patrick) of New Carlisle, OH; and Zachariah A. Bettelon and his wife Megan (Fisher) of Medway, OH.
Jane was also a proud great-grandmother to fifteen and great-great-grandmother to five.

She made an anatomical gift of her body to the Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine in Beavercreek, Ohio. Services will be held privately under the direction of the family. Jane's life was a portrait of devotion to her family and passion for the natural world, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
