Janice Braun Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 15, 2016.
Janice Marion (Erlandson) Braun ended her struggle with Alzheimer's disease and died quietly July 13 in the care of Brookdale Nine Mile and Hospice of Spokane.
Born October 8, 1939 in Rockford, IL to Clifford and Marion Erlandson, Janice attended Rockford schools, and following high school, was a 1960 graduate from an intensive three-year program at Moline Lutheran Hospital School for Nurses, Moline, IL. She married Robert Braun of Helena, MT on January 28, 1961 in Rockford. Sons David, Timothy, and Steven were born in different states as Jan partnered with bob in his career pursuit. She made time for piano and organ playing, artistry in several media, gardening, homemaking, Lutheran church activities, and reading.
She was employed at nursing homes in Lacey, WA and Boise, ID and, for five years, with the Ada County Home Health Agency in Boise. She was a clinic nurse at Spokane Urology and then Spokane Regional Heath District for nearly twenty years before retiring in 2004.
Her parents, Marion and Clifford Erlandson, and brothers John and Paul preceded her in death. She is survived by husband Robert, sons David, Spokane; Timothy, Rosalia; Steven (Laurel), Newport, WA and sister Mary Ellen Erlandson, Winona, MN. Granddaughters Jordan, Haley, Emma, Devyn, and grandsons Zayne and Soren were all very precious to Jan. Cousins, nieces, and nephews live in Midwestern states.
A memorial service following cremation is scheduled at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division, Spokane for August 1, 2016. Conversation time begins at 6:00pm, and the funeral service of Worship will begin at 7:00pm. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church,
the Alzheimer's Association, or the Arthritis Foundation .
Arrangements under the direction of Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, Spokane, WA.

Jan and I were classmates at Moline Lutheran Hospital class of 1960. I am so sorry to hear of her illness and recent passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Jan was a nursing classmate of mine from our 1960 Moline Lutheran Hospital school of Nursing. We graduated 42 in our class. Our three years living together in our dorms helped us form life long friendships and more memories than anyone person wants to hear about. It provided with us more than a career but knowledge that gave us many incites into life and choices. As years went on we all went many different directions but tried to stay in touch. It is more difficult now that we all have health issues but it doesn't mean we have forgotten anyone nor have our love and caring diminished. I'm sure others in our class will respond as they are made aware of our great lose. Sympathy and love to her friends and family. Jeanette Cook Sproul Andreae.
