Janice M. King, age 85, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Edenbrook Nursing Home. She was born on December 6, 1939, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Ambrose and Agnes (Atkinson) King. Jan attended Roosevelt Jr. High School, graduated from Goodrich High School in 1958, and attended Marian College where she was a part Alpha Delta Theta sorority. Jan graduated from UW Fox Valley with an associates of science degree. She worked for over seven years as a lab technician at St. Agnes Hospital, then she went on to work as secretary for the plant superintendent at Appleton Mills for 43 years. Jan resided in Appleton until moving back to Fond du Lac. In her spare time, Jan enjoyed gardening, sewing, cross stitch, reading, playing cards, crossword puzzles, photography, bowling, and she was an avid Packer fan.
Survivors include her siblings, Joyce Willie, Karen (Marvin) Gustman, Linda Sternitzky, and Lee King; nieces and nephews, Diane (Ken) Cunningham, Donna (Craig) Baltz, Tracy (Chris) Wills, Christy (William) Wedemeyer, Vicki Parker, Michelle Natrop, Mike Dalton, Melissa Bloemers, Jenny King, Shawn King, Aaron King, Nathan King; ten great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She provided a loving home to three rescue cats, Misty, Buffy, and Buttons.
Jan was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Dan King; her parents; Ambrose and Agnes King; her brother-in-law, Walter Willie; her loving friend, Marge Vervoort.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
