1959 – 2015
A beautiful spirit left us on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Janice Ann Mantha passed away at the Civic Hospital at age 55. Janice has left to mourn her soul mate and husband Gilles as well as her 2 sons Niko and Jori. Beloved daughter of late Jack Lyle and of Jane Gaudet and stepdaughter of Gaspard "Joe" Gaudet. Dearly missed by her siblings Theresa (Brian), Susan (Adam), Michael, Ron (Mary Anne). Fondly remembered by her brother- in-law Michel (Kim), nieces Logan, Brooke and Kristen as well as nephews Ryan, Tyler, Colby and Justin. She touched the lives of many aunts, uncles plus many wonderful friends. Janice was a proud employee of Canada Post. She inspired great courage during her battle, showing such inner strength that was so much a part of her. She brought happiness to others and her spirit will live on in all of us. Condolences in Janice's memory will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Rd., Ottawa. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I was heartbroken to hear the news of Jay's passing. She struggled through several brain operations that have plagued her for a long time; longer than I have been married. Each time I visited her in her hospital room or in the ICU, I would speak to Gilles afterwards and tell him that I thought that she was doing better. I could see in his face that I was wrong, but always kept up hope that she would pull through. Like Gilles, she was one-of-a-kind. She had an amazing sense of humour and outlook on life. Jay always made you feel welcome in her home, and when she was away from home she brought her smile and hugs for everyone to enjoy. It is very difficult to express how much I will miss you, and how much I wish that I could relieve her family's pain. We will never forget you.

We have only the warmest memories of Jay, cheering on our boys together in their many volleyball adventures. Her spirit, positive nature and compassion will be fondly remembered by the Fenton clan.

Sadness to hear of Jay's passing. Her smile and laugh lit up a room. My son Dylan was friends with Niko during high school and many times Jay warmly welcomed him into their home.
