Janie L. Johnson

Janie L. Johnson, age 64 of Rock Falls died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her home. Janie was born October 9, 1950 in Dixon the daughter of William and Dana (Hall) Elder. She married Roger Johnson on October 12, 1968 in Rock Falls. Janie worked at an E911 Tele communicator at the Rock Falls Police Department for 16 years. She was member of the Amazing Grace Church in Sterling. Janie started the first girls' softball league in Rock Falls in 1977. She was a H.A.M. Radio Operator for many years. Janie worked with the E.S.D.A. (Emergency Services and Disaster Agency), she also worked at City Answer Phones in Sterling for many years. Survivors include her husband Roger of Rock Falls, three sisters Susan (Wayne) Lapp of Sterling, Shelly (Kenny) Noyes of Harmon, and Rebecca (George III) Canales of Sterling, one brother Michael (Marsha) Elder of Harmon, and thirteen nieces and nephews Jackie, Jay, Joy, JR, Coby, Darcie, Jesse, Russell, Melanie, Nathan, Niquita, George IV, and William. She was preceded in death by parents, and one sister Lora Dunseth. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
