Janie Lupac Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 19, 2022.
On July 1, 2022, Janie (Jane) Beatrice Lupac, a long-time resident of Barstow, California, passed away at the age of 91 in Victorville, CA. She was born to Percy and Lillie Ross in Whittier, California and was one of nine children. Jane is preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Lupac, her son Emery (Buster) Hebert, and granddaughter, Carissa Marsh. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Benny and Tina Hebert, Dennis and Connie Hebert, Byran and Sandy Hebert, and Phyllis and Bill Henkel; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Jane graduated from San Jacinto High School and went on to hold jobs in many different capacities including time as a car-hop food server on roller skates, court clerk, and secretary. She retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow after 20 years of service working as a forklift operator and completing her time there as a supply clerk.

Upon retirement, Jane took care of her mother and mother-in-law many years in her home. She did volunteer work over ten years as a tax preparer and was a dedicated leader of the prayer chain at the First Baptist Church. Some of her favorite pastimes were memorizing statistics of the Angels baseball team; going camping for family reunions; reading mystery novels; and baking lemon meringue pies.

Jane was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (GG), and always made each of us feel loved and cared for. She taught us the value of being honest, kind, independent, and hard-working. She made sure we knew what having faith in God meant. She will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts.

We want to extend a special thank you to Alan and Cesar with hospice, and her caretakers at Kar'n Care Residential home: Karen, Cristal, John, Ben, Jade, Heidi, and all others who took part in caring for her.

Services will be held Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church located at 1320 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA 92311. A future private interment will be held at Riverside National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her late husband and love of her life, Bill Lupac.

Her love and kindness. She taught me so much. I grew up in her home with Byran and was there with her and Buster. Uncle Bill and Aunt Janie were very important in my life, without them in my life, it could have been very ugly. I love her so very much and will miss her

Aunt Janie was always such a "sweetheart" to everyone ... kind, loving, good natured, and funny...a blessing to each weary friend/ family member stopping by to rest awhile, have a cold drink or a bite to eat, enjoy the lively conversation or perhaps just a warm hug and some encouraging words. She just seemed to "know" what was needed,
As my family reminisced, we recalled many great reunions at Hurkey creek, camping/rock-climbing trips to Joshua Tree or heading for a weekend in Ludlow, which included my dad (Aunt Janie's oldest brother Jeff or O.J.) Our 2 grown children have some great memories of these trips and making 'pit stops" at Aunt Janie's "desert oasis"!

Good Times! Great Memories!
We love and will miss you Aunt Janie.

I will miss my Aunt Janie, but I will forever have my sweet memories of her smile, her infectious laughter, her kindness and her genuine affection for all of her family, extended and otherwise. Heaven knows there were a lot of us! And her big heart embraced us all. She was a unicorn of love. May she rest in peace. Love, Jeanette

Janie was such a beautiful soul and a great prayer warrior. In 1994 When my mom had cancer Janie prayed non stop. And the morning my mom passed Janie told me that she was praying for her. She was praying that Jesus would meet my mom and walk with her so she would not be afraid. She said at 7 am a peace came over her and she knew my mom would be OK. My mom passed at 7 am that same morning. Coincidence, I think not. Thank you Janie for loving my mom and always being so kind. You will truely be missed. My condolences to the family.

One of my special aunts! To my dad, Bill Ross, (her older brother) family was so important. We visited his sister back in Louisiana and out in Barstow. I babysat for all 5 kids when she first moved back out to CA. She was always real...honestly talked with us whenever there was opportunity. Inspired by her love for the Lord . I know all her family has many wonderful memories.

One of my mother's sisters in California, as a child and teenager we got to go out there and visit and Janie and her husband Bill picked us up at the Airport in Las Vegas and put us up in their home for a few days before and after family reunions at Joshua Tree, lots of good memories. Also, she was a great big sister to my mom and they kept in touch real well for most of their lives, my mom is now 87 and seems to be ok, but she will be saddened to hear that she won't be able to see or talk to her big sister any more on this side of heaven.
