My Mum was a huge fan and named me after Janis

I remember my mom talking about her. They had gone to stadium H.S. in Tacoma WA. She told me that everyone knew that she would be famous someday due to her beauty and talent. She starred in all of the H.S. plays. Of course she knew her as Donna Mae Tjaden. We would watch her on all of the various tv shows that she made appearances on. Her younger sis had the same name as my mom Betty Jane. She even had a mini schnauzer as we did. Lost my mom in 2001 to CA. Hard to believe that this june 30th my mom too would have been 101 yrs. old. Miss her everyday. RIP Janis paige or as my mom would say Donna Mae Tjaden. Will have to find my moms old yearbook and look her up.

Janis was a beautiful lady and a very talented performer. She was one of the last of Hollywood's great entertainers. May her family know how much she was admired and that she will be forever remembered. AJ, Austerlitz, NY

One of the last remaining greats from Hollywood's Golden Era. Too many classic roles to name, but who could forget her turn as the waitress who tried to seduce Archie Bunker. A hilarious and yet heartfelt performance. RIP Janis, you will be missed!!

An impressively versatile movie, television, and stage actress who I discovered while watching "Romance on the High Seas" and adored by the time I finished watching her full catalog of movies. Thank you for signing copies of your memoirs for me. May you continue to be lit in the most flattering of lighting!
