My first memory of Jason was when he was born and they laid him on my tummy. He was 9 pounds 1 ounce and chubby cheeks with lots of white hair. We called him the "Little Santa". The doctor said at delivery "It's a girl... Oh.. it's a Big Boy!" A favorite memory I have is when Jason and I took a trip together just the two of us, to Colorado and had a wonderful bonding time. We went to look at the Colorado Institute of Art School that he was thinking of attending. White Water Rafting was especially fun on that trip. I'll always remember his expression of concern of "MOM! Are you OK?" when I fell off the water rafting boat. Special moments that we shared were going on (Mom dates) together, taking car excursions out of town to get away from the city apartment life. In his earlier days, we even went to a Boxing Match in Omaha together, just the two of us. We both enjoyed water skiing together at the Minnesota lake and snow skiing one winter in Colorado. Something I learned from visiting Jason at the Regal Towers was to accept and respect all people no matter what they look like or act like. They are God's children and loved by God. He was so kind and patient with everyone. I will always cherish the great big hugs Jason gave me before I left to go home and the sincere "I love you, Mom" and the last comment he said before he died was "You are number one in my life." I love you too, Jason, and I will cherish my memories of the fun we had together and the kind and considerate son that you were.
