Jason Bedell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 7, 2024.
Jason Robert Bedell, 47, of West Palm Beach, FL died unexpectedly in his home on August 31, 2024. Born in Schenectady, NY, on March 10, 1977, Jason was the son of Joseph R. Bedell (DeeDee), and the late Diane Bedell.

Jason was a force to be reckoned with very early on in life. He started his career at the ripe age of 13, when the late Antoinette Colucci brought him on as a dishwasher at her restaurant, "The Carlton." Jason and Antoinette formed an immediate and unbreakable bond, and he continued to work for and learn from Antoinette for most of his young life. She taught him how to cook, bartend, serve and run the house. Their bond and friendship were one for the record books.

Following his restaurant career, Jason began working at Merle Norman Cosmetics at Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, NY. It was at Merle Norman that Jason found his love and passion for fashion and makeup. A lifelong Madonna fan, Jason was the quintessential "Material Girl." He knew he wanted more from life than what the Capital District had to offer, and he quickly made a move from Merle Norman to Chanel, and from the Capital District to the heart of NYC. Throughout this transition, an incredibly talented make-up artist was born. He continued to reach for the stars and had successful careers in both make-up artistry, cosmetics, as well as a successful career in Manhattan real estate.

He relocated to Florida in 2022 to look for a fresh start. It was a hard fought battle, but he had recently excelled in a new position as the Manager of Trends Cosmetics and was excited for his future in his new home in West Palm Beach.

Jason is survived by his father, Joseph (DeeDee) Bedell, his brother, John (Allie) Bedell, his sister, Sarah (Chris) Greene, his nieces, Alana and Alexis Bedell, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and colleagues.

In addition to his mother, Jason was predeceased by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Jason will be missed more than words can say. He will forever be remembered as a fun-loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend-someone everyone could count on in times of need for some brutal honesty or a "tears-streaming-down-your-face" laugh. It was his greatest gift to us all.

A graveside service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, October 26th, Glenford Cemetery, 8 William F. Angell Road, North Scituate, Rhode Island, 02857.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Jason's name to St. Ann Place Outreach Center, https://www.stannplaceoc.org/donate.

Many fond memories of working with Jason at Chanel in Macys Herald Square. We had a blast! Later, he was so supportive of my becoming a yoga teacher. He came to one of my very first classes I ever taught, and knowing I was a nervous wreck, wore black nail polish on his toes to make me laugh... it worked!
I´ll miss him calling me Mukti Darling. Rest in peace Jas-OM
