Jason Eric Cahill of Petaluma, age 45, passed away peacefully on Saturday September
19, 2020 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Jason was born January 20, 1975 in Petaluma, California to James “Jim” Cahill and
Gayle Finkel Cahill.
Jason was a graduate of Casa Grande High School in 1993 and Empire college in
1998.
In 2003 he married his high school sweetheart Rosy Lute at Caesars Lake Tahoe,
Nevada. They were together for 27 wonderful years and happily married for 17 of those.
Jason worked many years as a Network Engineer for Gilardi & Co in San Rafael.
Jason was known for his infectious, cheesy smile and his mischievous laugh. He loved
life & laughter, his humor was second to none. Jason took great pleasure in the small
joys. He would never pass up an opportunity to sneak in a selfie when asked to take a
photo for an unsuspecting victim. By the same token, he quite literally jumped at the
opportunity to photo bomb the memories of strangers with every chance that he got.
Many images exist that have his big, cheesy grin gracing the background of a perfect
family photo. Along with his passion for memorializing himself in the photos of others
were his more tangible hobbies. He was an avid collector of Funko Pop figurines which
line the walls of his home office in a proud and orderly display. Together with his wife
Rosy, he would throw the most elaborate Halloween parties each year to which an
invitation was greatly coveted. Jason was known by all as "The King of Halloween" in
direct reflection of his incredible annual Spooktacular Halloween display and endless
collection of gory décor. His vast assemblage of the macabre included an extensive
troupe of the creepiest dolls one could possibly tolerate being in the presence of. Jason
loved giving everyone a good fright, and the Halloween experience he provided never
disappointed. He was a bright light amongst his friends and family. He will be greatly
missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
Jason is survived by his wife Rosy Cahill, Parents, brother Brian Cahill, nieces,
nephews, and a great-niece and great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents Charles & Mary Cahill and Harold & Rose Finkel. Services will be held
privately.

Is this the same Jason Cahill I went to Trinity School with in the mid 1980's? If it is, I am truly sorry for the familys & friends loss. He was really awesome to hang out with and a good friend when we were kids / teenagers. I have some photos of us at Trinity and would share them if you'd like.
If this is not the same Jason Cahill, my condolences for your loss as well. He appears to be the kind of guy I would be frineds with.

Dear Gayle, Jim, Brian, Rosy,
I am so sad and sorry to hear about Jason. Growing up across the street from your family, you were real neighbors to my family, but you were also like an extended family to us. Brian and Jason were like my little brothers. Jason was such a sweet and kind kid with bright eyes and a huge smile. He never lost those wonderful qualities. Later on when I would go over to Alta to visit my dad it was always nice to see Jason outside and we would chat and catch up on how our families were doing. With my dad no longer on Alta, I haven’t seen Jason in quite a while. I really wish I had seen him more recently. I will miss him. Please know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
With my love and deepest sympathies,
Pat Bowles

Thank you for being my friend and colleague, Jason. I can’t properly express my gratitude for your ever available assistance, your good natured spirit, your willingness to eat sandwiches. I wish we could complain about unreasonable requests at least one more time, that you had to explain how this affected that with the slightest annoyed, yet patient, smile, that I could hear that laugh again.
I will miss you, big guy. May you find peace and open roads and endless shelves of limited release Funko Pops. Rosy, and family/friends, I hope this finds you as well as you can be and hope you’re able to keep joy in your heart to ease the grief, if even just a little.

Rosy, Jason was always a joy to be around. You know how sorry I am for you and your family for what you are going through. I know you have such wonderful memories (and selfies) of Jason. Just knowing that you fell in love in high school and continued that flame burning is heart warming. I hope those memories help you heal and keep that beautiful smile on your face. Love You!!!

I will never forget you Jay..... you were not only a brother n law, you were my friend. When I needed support the most, you and Rosy stepped up and helped me with the boys. You gave the boys so much as they grew into the men that they are now. I will always remember your smile, your ability to sing like Sebastian Bach, your laugh, and most of all, the love you have for Rosy....

I remember a time when Jason and I were in a Halloween store during our lunch hour, checking things out to possibly add to his awesome collection. We saw this girl walk in, who couldn't have been more than 4, and walked right up to a very scary and gory display of babies who were, well, scary and gory. We both stood there, unsure what to do... Do we shield her? Do we look for mom or dad? Well, she walked up to one that had an evil smile, spikes in it, stitches and screamed out with such joy "Oh.... I love him!!". We looked at each other and laughed to tears.
My work with Jason, and our times hanging out together, were all like that. Filled with laughs, fun, and some unpredictable events. He was an exceptional person. One of those rare ones who impacted everyone he met.
You are missed buddy.

Jason, was one of my oldest friends. Met around the age of 6 or 7. I always wanted to play your Atari. I remember riding bikes hanging out in your pool out back and camping at Lake Sonoma with your family. You cracked me in the eye with a whip in your bedroom one time after we saw Indiana Jones!! So sad to hear of your passing... my Love to Rosy and the rest of The Cahill Family.

Uncle J. Not a day will ever go by I won't think about you and the huge impact you had on my life. Not only were you an uncle to me but you were also a father figure I could go to for advice. From when I was a kid, to my young young adulthood I have and always will idolize you. Love you always.

I miss your big smile, sense of humor and your big quiet presence. I still remember the first moment that you walked across Casa Grande parking lot and I told Rosy that she should pick you for her prom date. I was right and you were a wonderful loving husband to my daughter. I love you Jason and will miss you.
