I first met Jason when he was 16 he would come to a country dance social club in Pleasanton. The kid was a gifted dancer back then. My wife and I were dance competitors in the UCWDC circuit at the time. I have to say he danced with my wife a few times and I was a little jealous, lol, we were 10 years older than him at the time. Lost contact with that whole scene many years ago. Ironically a you tube dance video showed up in my feed and I was like I think I know who that is. Watched a number of their videos over and over not paying attention to the year, and then finally seeing he passed. It´s been quite a few years but glad to see he followed what he was very good at, but taken away to young.

I first saw Jason dancing this year on Tik Tok. It was the Honky Tonk dance video with Katie Boyle. His dancing style, movements and expressions are mesmerizing so i have watched him in the video over and over almost daily because every time I see him in it, I feel happy. His charm is forever imprinted in my memory from this year forward. I´m 79yo, was a novice dance competitor and performer up until 6 years ago, and Jason is my all time favorite dancer to watch! I hope my message brings a smile in his memory.

Like Sissy Clark, I, too, just happened upon the Swing Contests and found Jason and his longtime partner, Katie Boyle, dances to be absolutely breathtaking. I was hoping to find him still today and sadly found his obituary. Sympathies to his family and friends and the world lost an extremely talented young man on August 9, 2009

I just recently discovered Jason Colacino and Katie Boyle! I have been watching their videos over and over. Then I read that he had been taken from this world way too soon.
He was the most talented Dancer I have ever seen and Katie Boyle was his equal they were a perfect match. Their dances flowed together like no others I have ever seen.
I wish they would have had many more years together! They were magical and you could tell how they felt about each other. They looked like they had the perfect relationship!
Sending love and prayers to the Colacino Famly and Katie Boyle. I know it has been 11 years but it is alway a comfort when you know people are praying and sending love your way.

i just began watching Jason and Katie on U Tube, and fell in love with them immediately. He was so handsome and talented, he seemed to glide over the floor and supported Katie as she glided with him. You can see that he and Katie had an amazing relationship. Heartfelt condolences to his parents. I lost my handsome and talented 55 year old son suddenly in 2012, and know the pain of that loss so well. God bless his family. RIP dear Jason. Im sure youre dancing with the angels now.

I worked with Jason when he was doing Swango in NY, at both the Helen Hayes and Queens Theater. He and Katie made everything look so easy, and watching them was a joy. Jason was an incredibly gifted dancer, and one of the nicest people I've ever met. During rehearsals his presence was very calming. Focused on work with no drama, but lighthearted at the same time. He will be missed.

Although we have long lost any connection, I remember well the pleasure of taking dance lessons from you. You set the bar for talent so high, I always think the contestants on the television dance shows fall short; I know what truly amazing dancers look like. Hugs to you and Katie, my friend.

I was a student of Jason and we did two pro ams together. It was so much fun to meet weekly for a lesson with this shy man, who changed the way I moved and thought about dance. His couching inspired me. He was a good friend and very very patient with an amateur, and I loved having that one hour a week with him all to myself. I am so lucky to have had a little part, a piece of his world which was expanding and growing. I was so proud in knowing him, and his dreams were becoming so real and then this....
We have lost a great talent whose potential was only just starting to reveal itself.. I will miss my friend.

I met Jason when he was just a teenager. Jason, Katie and I spend countless hours together, talking, singing, dancing.
Jason and I had our first ProAm (him as a Pro and me as an Am) in San Diego's Paradise Convention back in 1995. It was my first ever experience in the competition floor and he made it so easy for me. I always attributed my skills to his amazing ability to teach. Although I have amazing memories of him as a dancer. I have more of him as a friend.
I will forever miss the friend
Thanks Rick and Diane for sharing your unforgettable son with me. My heart and prayers are with you.

Jason, you'll be missed. You were an amazing man with talent few could touch.
I didn't know Jason that well, but he had my attention whenever he danced. His natural talent plus background in ballet and tap put him on top of this dance "game." My favorite dance ever was of his Jack and Jill with Lyndee (sp?) of California at the Phoenix Convention about 10 years ago. I must have watched that video 100 times. His talent was jaw-dropping.
Rest in peace, brother, we were blessed to have you in your short stay with us. God Bless you and your family. My deepest condolences...

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Jason's Family. Your son was a gift to many.
I had the priviledge of dancing with Jason in a performance we gave in Mexico city.. We had 2 days to put together 2 numbers with flips and tricks and to compete on international TV. We had never danced together before but I instantly knew I was in good hands. He was a warm, kind and deep soul and a very giving and gifted partner. He had a calm and focused energy that instantly made me feel safe. I always looked forward to dancing and hanging out with him again when I moved back to NYC. He will be extremely missed, not just for his talent but for the kind person he was.

I didn't know Jason well but had the chance to dance with him. I was touched at how comfortable he made me feel as an amateur dancer. He was definitely one of the nicest people I have ever met and he was taken from this world much too soon. My deepest condolences to his family.

When I started dancing, Jason and Katie were part of the lure because they made it look so darn easy. Still amazing that two talented teenagers could be that friendly and lack all the attitude that's easy to get when everybody is worshiping you.
I can't believe I'll never get to hear another wisecrack from Jason and see that wicked cheshire cat grin of his. He was mischievious, thoughtful, and sincere--even to a wobbly amateur like me. I save many fond memories of him in my heart, which is heavy heavy heavy with sadness at the moment. All my thoughts and condolences are with Jason's family, Katie, the Evil Mavens, and all the souls that Jason touched with his grace, not just in his dancing, but in his being. You will be missed greatly and by many, Jason.

First of all, my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and Katie. Recently I had the pleasure of experiencing Jason's magic on the dance floor and as a teacher. Dancing with him, well there is no one else like him. Jason was all about connection in so many ways. My lessons with him continue to be a source of inspiration and he will forever be a part ofmy dancing. I will miss watching him dance and I will miss dancing with him and learning from him. He was truly a beautiful dancer, generous in spirit and dedicated teacher. His loss is tragic in so many ways but he does live on in the lives he touched so deeply.

My sincere condolences go out to Katie, Jason’s friends and family. Jason, I will never forget the many events we hung out together. The first time you sang (a great voice) for me, the fact that both our feet have toes that curl (and we even took our shoes off to show each other), and the happy brush we shared. You are a beautiful man, inside and out. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.
