Nguyet-please know of my deepest condolences. It was a shock to see Jason's name in the Hopkins alumni mag and what you both have bravely faced these last 11 years. I was a resident in the unit at Barnes when y'all started your courtship and the memory of your "antics" still brings a smile to my face! Keep up the strength!

Gail and I have fond memories at your wedding Nguyet, having fun at the Oyster fest, etc. Everyone who he knew and touched their lives are certainly feeling sorry and emptiness right now. What helps getting us through these times is remembering all the GOOD times we have shared. We have lost other friends with ALS,and can empathize with your journey with this medical condition. Our Love and thoughts are with you, and the extended family. Gary and Gail Griffin (Defiance, MO)

Jason was always kind, when I knew him as a child. It does not surprise me that he has the will to continue on and dedicated himself to helping others, even with his own ALS to deal with. May his memory be for a blessing

I am so very sorry to hear these news. Indeed, I knew Jason in what, given the remarkable achievements in his obituary, seems to have been the very beginning of his life when we were college students at Penn. I was part of a pretty motley crew which included Jason aspiring economists, bankers, engineers, of different ethnic, religious and academic backgrounds, pulled together by a deep friendship for one another which transcended our differences. Jason was always the quiet, polite and hardworking Pre-Med student. Those were indeed very good years. It is tragic that someone so very talented was taken so early. I have always held doctors in awe, as individuals who, with their training and their hands, have the power to help others. And as for the doctors who train doctors I hope there is a special place in the afterlife for those who did so much good for so many people. Nguyet, we have not met, but please accept my deepest condolences during this very difficult time. I will offer up a prayer for him and am sure he rests in peace.

Prayers and thoughts are with you all. Jason was a wonderful physician, friend, and above all, human being. The courageous and inspirational way in which he lived his life will be remembered in his memory. Particularly, as a teacher, his impact among a generation of students and physicians at WashU will continue to be felt throughout the country.

I am so sorry to hear of Jason's passing . His resiliency in the setting of ALS was inspiring. His intellect and humor never seemed to flag despite his circumstances in no small part due to Nguyet's constant supportive , loving presence . I am so sorry , my thoughts are with you at this very sad time. Leslie Murphy
