Jason Steele Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 5, 2022.
It is with profound heartache that we announce the passing of Jason Michael Steele of Loganville, Georgia. Jason passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Loganville on August 13, 2022, after experiencing an unexpected cardiac event. He was 44 years old.

Jason was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Catherine and James Steele. He graduated from Newton County High School in 1996, and enlisted in the United States Navy later that year. Jason's service aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln took him on many adventures throughout the world, and he soaked up every second of them with an unbridled enthusiasm for living in the moment that would stay with him for his entire life.

Following his service, Jason began a career in the HVAC field. He worked in many aspects of the trade while working to obtain his degree, and his adventurous spirit eventually led Jason to opening his own businesses in the field. He was a beloved teammate, boss and friend who preferred to lead from the front, tools in hand, and left a lasting impression on many in the industry throughout his career.

Most importantly, Jason was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. He was the most steadfast fan of his children, and beamed with pride for their talents in both the auditorium and on the field. He was a lover of life with a free spirit and was rarely serious. His happy place was the beach, dancing to music, watching the waves, and soaking up the sun. He knew the value of a memory, no matter how big or small, and of being there for those you love.

Jason's love for sports was unlike any other. While a dedicated Miami Hurricanes and Braves fan, Jason enjoyed watching any sports, no matter who was playing. Jason felt honored to be a coach and mentor in many of the local youth leagues, and worked hard to impart values and skills that will live on forever through the players he coached.

Jason was the ultimate father, son, brother, husband, uncle and grandson, and the love that Jason shared with his family will be treasured forever.

Jason is survived by his wife, Brandy Steele; his children, McKayla and Mason Steele; his parents, Cathy (Les) Gulley, and Mike (Tricia) Steele; Grandmothers; Nancy Stimis and Linda Steele; Siblings, Jonathan (Joanne) Steele, Jennifer (Chuck) Hutchins, Melissa (Lawrence) Monroe, Brian (Erin) Steele; James Carpenter, Taylor (Elizabeth) Carpenter, Christian Loughran, Danny (Molly) Cofell, Jennifer (Patrick) Cofell, Grace and Katie Kelly; parent in-laws; Anita (Edward) Kelly and Danny (Bridget) Cofell; nieces and nephews; Kylie, Dylan, Avery, Colin, Matthew, Kate, Dean, John, McKenzie, Destinee, Caleb, Emory, Reed, Bella, Jude and Ryder; and extended family members.

To celebrate the legacy of this wonderful man, we invite family, friends, and colleagues to join us Saturday, September 24, 2022, starting at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 1155 Mount Zion Rd., Oxford, Georgia 30054. Please join us in wearing your favorite sports gear to honor Jason's true spirit. They say that a man's life is judged by the imprint that was left behind, and there's no doubt that his imprint was great.
