Jason Walton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2007.
Jason Alan Walton, age 34, left his earthly life Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007. His wife, son and family are at peace knowing he is resting in the arms of his loving Savior.

Jason's Celebration of Life will be Friday afternoon, Oct. 5, 2007, 4 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. His family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the church. James Bridges and Audie Bogus will officiate. Burial will follow in Bluewater Cemetery at Mitchelltown.

Jason was born and raised in Lexington, where he was a 1992 graduate of Lexington High School. He met his beautiful wife, Heather, in 2000. Jason and Heather became proud parents of their son, Carson. He played basketball in high school, but his greatest pleasure was playing with his precious son, Carson. Jason coached his son's little league team; they loved spending time together playing video games.

Another favorite pastime was Jason's love of race cars.

He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He managed and operated Walton's Restaurant for the last 11 years, and one of his specialties was cooking steaks. Jason was always quick with a joke and a laugh. He loved to play with his nieces and nephews, who were a big part of his life. They affectionately called him "JJ".

Jason is blessed with a wonderful loving family. He leaves his beautiful wife of 5 1/2 years, Heather Williams Walton; and his beloved son, Carson Alan Walton, Rogersville; loving parents, Ronnie and Lois Walton, Rogersville; father and mother-in-law, Lennie and Vicki Williams, Rogersville; loving sister, DeaLona Taylor and husband, Tim, Lexington; sister-in-law, Chelsea Williams, Lexington; loving brother, Sean and wife, Cindy Walton, Lexington. He was also blessed to have his loving nieces and nephews, Morgan, Maggie, Rachel and Austin.

Pallbearers will be Shannon and Brian Springer, Todd Pettus, Brandon Hale, Marty and Derrick Gray, Thomas Jason Walton and Preston Porter.

Heather, Carson and Jason's family want to extend their deepest appreciation to all of their friends and family, too numerous to name, for all of their loving acts of kindness shown them; the doctors and staff of ECM Hospital, Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, The MD Anderson Hospital Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, and his church families for their prayers, loving support, calls, cards, visits and concern.

Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.

I just wanted to take time to tell you Jason Walton was a true joy to be around. I am blessed to have known him and his wonderful family. Jason was like a brother to me. As I write this I reflect back on all of the great times we shared together. Sean you and Jason are the best and I can not wait one day to tell Carson what a great dad he had. Jason was funny, honest and most of all loved by all who knew him. My thoughts are with you and your family and my heart goes out to Carson and Heather.

Heather,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have been praying for Jason since he found out he had cancer. My mother & sister go to Pleasant Valley and have kept me informed as to how he was doing. I lost my husband to cancer 22 years ago at age 32 and I know how hard it is going to be for you, but God will strengthen and sustain you and your son. You have great family support and this will be such a blessing. May God bless and keep you in the days to come.

Ronnie, Lois, Heather & family,

I just wanted to let you guys know that you are all still in our thoughts and prayers, just like you have been for many months now. It breaks my heart to know that Jason is gone. I found this poem I wanted you guys to read. God Bless all of you.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Jason will be greatly missed on earth by all who knew him.But if he were to write back from heaven, he might share these words to his family and loved ones still on earth.
First of all, I want you to know that I arrived okay, I am writing from Heaven, where I dwell with God above where there is no more pain, tears or sadness, there is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy because I am out of sight, remember I will be with you every morning, noon and night. On that Wednesday night when I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and said I welcome you.

To all of Jason's family, we love you, our prayers will continue for you, May God be with each of you.
