Javarius Desmore Obituary
Mr. Javarius Doneil Desmore, affectionately known as “Var”, departed this life suddenly on March 14, 2023, in Petersburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, SFC Nathaniel Sr.,and Evelyn Desmore; uncles, Tyrone, Jerome, Victor, and Nathaniel "Jr." Desmore, Barry and Lamont DeWitt; aunt,Glenda Desmore; and his brother, Jakari Shaw. Javarius attended Petersburg Public Schools.
Var was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and LA Lakers fan. Although he was a man of few words, you could always count on having great times of laughter. Var was known for leaving you with one of his famous quotes like, “You can’t rush greatness.” He was a protector of everyone he loved and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved his family to life and always told them he loved them every time he saw them!
Javarius leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his son, Jordyn Lewis; devoted mother, Lenita Desmore; father, Michael Beverly; devoted sister, Jamine Shands; devoted nieces, Makenzie Williams, Sevyn and Savvy Shaw; a host of devoted aunts, Jewell Jones (Howard), Tonya Desmore Friend (Arnold), Natalie Desmore, Bonita DeWitt, Anita Hayes, Joy Gregory, Joanne Jones, Patricia Washington-Thomas, Bridgette Perkins, and Kenya Williams; devoted uncles, Milton Desmore (Paulette), John Walker, James DeWitt, and Keith Beverly. Var had a fond affection for his devoted cousins, Tierra, Joya Nachelle, Trey, Courtney, Tyre, Brianna, Jennasia, Cherelle, Isaiah, Jada, Azaria, Kahlil, Latasha, Nikita, Vatura, David, Timothy, Montez, and Perry Graves. Var had many devoted friends, among them Whitney Greene, Terice Smothers, Shanise Singletary, Craig Tucker, Jr., Jaquan Good, Raquan Williams, Tommy Lias, Quan Taylor and Tylik King; and a host of other relatives and friends too many to name.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2023, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1021 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Lamont A. Hobbs, Pastor and Pastor Arnold Friend, Jr., eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

To the Desmore Family, I extend sincere condolences in the loss of your loved one. Javarius was my student in first grade at Stuart School (now Pleasant Lane). He was a joy to have in class. Sometimes he reminded me of a little old man as he walked across the room. I believe it was his mom who said he was just like his grandpa.
