My sincere condolences to the Bloom family. I was Jay's Ithaca High lacrosse coach. I saw a recent post about Jay's involvement with lacrosse in Hawai'i in an email blast from Cornell and went to look him up on FB only to find his obituary there. I remember Jay fondly and was thrilled to read about his lacrosse involvement in Hawai'i.

When I was in college (also at Cornell), I worked as a summer school teacher on Oahu. Jay was kind enough to offer me a second job doing "yard work" for him, which consisted of about half an hour of work then two or three hours hanging out with Jay by his pool. Best memory was us jumping off his roof into his pool. The best. He will be missed. -Sten Jernudd

Worked with Jay at Hawaiiana Mgmt. He always participated in company events, Halloween Contests, XMas Parties, etc
He was very personable & I loved hearing him speak Japanese, he spoke the language fluently to me. He will be truly missed.

I met Jay in the Boy Scouts. I was impressed by his stature and demeanor. A part of me is from him.

Jay and I played lacrosse together in 1978. Both of us had more hair back in those days, although I didn't have nearly as much as he did. We had a lot of fun that spring.
