Jay Otte, age 64, of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Northfield Hospital.
Born May 1, 1961, to William and Mary (Husaby) Otte, Jay's life was a testament to the values instilled in him during his upbringing on the family farm in Randolph. A graduate of Randolph High School in 1979, Jay's path crossed with his beloved Duvae at a street dance, which started their lifelong journey together. Jay and Duvae married on August 5, 1989, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Farmington. Together, they raised three children on the family farm.
The legacy that he built alongside family at Triple O Dairy is one that the family will always be proud of. As a third-generation farmer, Jay taught his family how to work hard, stay humble, and take pride in what they do. He poured his heart into family and the farm, both of which are better because of him. He was a proud dad; supporting all three children through coaching youth sports throughout the years.
It felt like Jay's purpose in life was farming, until grandkids came along. His role as "Papa" was truly the proudest title he carried. Whether it was riding with in the tractor, seeing him there at every sporting event, or watching every recital, his grandkids always felt his love, pride, and support.
Beyond being a farmer, husband, father, and Papa, he was a great friend. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like an old friend. He would drop anything for someone in need and was always there to help. Jay took pride in his community and invested 18 years of service to the Randolph school board helping to ensure the students received the best possible experience.
Jay not only made the world a better place, but he also encouraged others to do the same. He passed his passion for community support, his friendship, and his commitment to family to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Duvae; children, Brienna (Dennis) Mulvihill of Randolph, Scott (Ashley) of Randolph and Trevor (Melissa) of Rochester; grandchildren, Lucy, Carson, Hadley, Levi, Ethan, Morgan and James; his 3 brothers, many in-laws and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary, and sister-in-law, Danelle.
