Jay E. Ricks

The Ricks family were my neighbors when they lived on Topsail Road at North Topsail Beach, Jay was 3 years old at that time. They were a great family and good neighbors. I went into the military and then to college and then moved to Dallas, Tx. I lost trac of the family but would see Jays construction trucks on the island when visiting Topsail. I am saddened by the loss of Jay at such a young age. My prayers go out to Frances and the family Bill Dail Savannah, Tx

Jay lived about 2 miles south of where I lived on the island with my parents. We rode the school bus together. Even though he hadn't seen me in many years after I moved off the island to work in Wilmington, then after I moved to the mountains for 12 years, when I saw him about a year or so ago after I moved back towards "home", he remembered me & greeted me with a warm handshake & a smile. He asked about my brother-in-law & my niece & myself. He was a fine man,, & he will be missed!!! The entire Ricks Family is in my prayers during this most difficult time. Take care,,,,,

My deepest sympathy. My brother Buddy and I grew up with Jay and Jody and went to school with them, rode the same bus and hung out at the arcade at Scotch Bonnet Pier. He was a sweet guy.

So sorry to hear of his passing...our thoughts and prayers are with Jody and rest of the family...great memories hanging out in the bus lot and driving bus 9 with him when I was learning to drive a bus... always a great friend and nice to be around..back in the early 80's.
