Jean Bellon Batchelor, 84 years old, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 in a local hospital.  She was born on February 28, 1938 to Kermit and Vernia Knox Jarreau in Alexandria, LA.


Jean attended Ouachita Parish High School and Louisiana Baptist College in Pineville, LA.  She proudly raised three children.  She worked at 1st Baptist Church as secretary for many years.  Jean loved cooking and baking for her loved ones and friends.  She passed on her love of plants and her green thumb to her daughters.  If someone had a need, she would help them in any way she could.


Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tammy Bellon Maddox (Russell), Tracey Bellon Caswell (Karl) and Paul Lee Bellon (Staci); her brother, Alvin Hayes; her sister, Alice Thornton; seven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.


A graveside burial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Rev. Steve Bennett will officiate.

Aunt Jean was precious to our family. We will miss her! Jean & her sister, Alice loved one another & had a sweet relationship with each other. We will miss all her delicious cooking & desserts!!
Our family rejoices that Jean is in Heaven with the Lord, spouses, & family already there.
We love you Aunt Jean & look forward to seeing you again one day for eternity in Heaven!❤
