David, truly sorry about the loss of your mother. Condolences to you and your family. I was honored to have known her and will always remember the warmth of her smile and her uncommon ability to make all in her presence feel valued. She was unique and a loss to the entire Concord community.

So sorry for your loss. The Bible says the sapn of our life is 70 years, or 80 if one is especially strong. Jean was one of those the Bible call especially strong. Ps. 90:10

For those of us remaining Wellesley '49ers, Johnny's passing leaves a very large hole in our ranks. Ever since we met as freshmen, she was an unforgettable presence, always upbeat, always positive, always a joy to be with. She will be missed!

It's hard to conceive of a world without our smiling "Johnny," who has been a mainstay of our Wellesley Class of 1949 during all the intervening decades. For many years, a contingent of New England classmates would gather for our traditional mini-reunion luncheon at the College Club, where Johnny was always a luminous presence. Her devotion to family, college, and community were unparalleled. With deepest sympathy,
Gretchen Rous Besser, Secretary, Class of 1949

We have lost a gentle soul with amazing strength, stamina and perseverance not to mention humor, empathy, and vision. Jean was one of the facilitators of my first Advanced Alternatives to Violence Project workshop at Northeast Correctional Center in the early 90s. I was privileged to be mentored and inspired by her. Thank you David for continuing to bring her to caroling and CPO meetings when possible.

May this be a time of fond remembrance, gentle humor and deep family connection.

I am so sorry to hear of Jean's death. I shall always remember her playing to role of a belligerent teenager (at the aga of 74!!) when I asked for volunteers in a demonstration of a restorative meeting when I was working in the concept of restorative justice. She played the part brilliantly!! She was an absolute diamond and an inspiration to so many people. Jean, you deserve the rest.

Oh Jean, you are sorely missed already! Your easy smile and twinkeling eyes easing the way for your determination and resolve for whatever endeavor and cause you were passionate about and wanted to see realized. I count it as a huge gift that I knew you and considered you a friend. Bless you in your next adventure! Love, Betsy Swaim
