Jean C. Braddock

Jean C. Braddock of East Bridgewater died peacefully on Aug. 26, at age 81. Jean was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Sophie (Chimbur) Glodines and grew up in Bridgewater. She was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, Class of 1951 and also attended the Secretarial School of Brockton. She married George Braddock on Sept. 5, 1958, and they raised their boys in East Bridgewater. Jean was a devoted homemaker however she also worked as an office manager at the Old Colony YMCA in East Bridgewater for over 25 years. Jean loved spending time with her dear friends; crocheting, playing bingo and exchanging romance novels. She also loved bowling, James Bond movies, following the Red Sox and Bruins, gardening, and most importantly spending time with her family. Jean was the loving wife of the late George A. Braddock; and mother of G. Allen Braddock and his wife Suzanne of West Bridgewater, and Jay C. Braddock and his wife Stacey of East Bridgewater; Gramma Jean to Elise, Jeremy, Angela; and sister of the late Robert Glodines. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation in the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Monday, Aug. 31, from 4-6 p.m. commencing with a short service at 6 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
