Jean Brouwer Obituary
Cutlerville, MI
Jean K. Brouwer, age 79, entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Margaret Geers. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Phil; children, Jason (Abby) Brouwer, Betsy (Nick) Fernandez; grandchildren, Cayla, Drew, Penelope, Max, Samantha; sisters, Ellen (Bill) VandenHeuvel, Diane (Larry) Maat, Marion (Garry) VanHouten, Ann (Robert) Storteboom, Alice (Tom) Haverbush; and many nieces and nephews. Jean and Phil enjoyed spending time at Shady Shores with their many friends. She was a member of her book club for 30 + years. An active member of her church, small home fellowship groups, and bible studies, Jean also loved volunteering in other church activities. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, December 14, from 3 - 6 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 15, at First Cutlerville Christian Reformed Church, 1425 68th St. SW, with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Kenneth Van Wyk will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Jean may be made to the Pine Rest Patient Assistance Fund.

We were blessed to know Jean through our F lane family at Shady Shores. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome there. We will miss her bubbly personality and stories of growing up on a farm. She bore her illness with grace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Phil and your family.

Dear Phil and family, how sad we are to hear of Jean's passing. We have enjoyed getting to know her through our years together at Shady Shores the love she had for each of you was very evident.
She was a wonderful friend and we will miss her greatly.
